Bistrot Media is looking for two enthusiastic interns to join us for 6 months from July to December 2025 (flexible start date). We’re a boutique agency working closely with some of Sydney’s most exciting restaurants, cafes and lifestyle brands. We’re hands-on, fast-paced, and we pride ourselves in providing the best possible service to all of our clients.

This is a rare opportunity to build experience, contribute to projects, and learn directly from our director. No coffee runs — just creative work, collaboration, and plenty of learning.

Marketing assistant intern

Location: Sydney, Australia
Duration: 6 months (July – December 2025, flexible start dates)
Compensation: $1,250 AUD per month

JOB DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for a proactive and organised intern to join us as a Marketing Assistant. In this role, you’ll work closely with our director to help support the day-to-day operations of the agency and contribute to the development of the Bistrot Media brand. Your key responsibilities will be:

Reporting & Research

  • Prepare performance reports for our different campaigns and track the ongoing results for our clients
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and content inspiration
  • Assist in preparing strategy documents and presentations

Agency support:

  • Assist in internal agency projects, with a focus on growing Bistrot Media’s presence
  • Support with day-to-day operations and task tracking
  • We are a small agency, the task will vary depending on what’s needed. You will be here to support the director in the day-to-day life of the business.

PROFILE
Technical Skills

  • Strong organisational and reporting skills (familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets)
  • Interest in digital marketing, branding, and strategy
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics and tools
  • Comfortable with Canva, Google Workspace, and willing to learn other platforms

Personal Attributes

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and happy to switch between tasks
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, collaborative attitude
  • This role requires proficiency in English

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Candidates must hold a valid visa for the entire duration of the internship (e.g., Working Holiday Visa or Student Visa) and have an official internship agreement with their school.
The role is based in Sydney and is an in-person role with the option to work from home after a training period, depending on the circumstances.

Content creator intern

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a content creator, you will assist the marketing team in developing content for our various clients. Your primary task will be to produce content in English, so fluency is essential. Your main responsibilities will include:

1. Content creation:

  • Create engaging content for social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn) as per the existing strategy for each of our clients and our own pages
  • Edit social media videos
  • Write articles, blogs, newsletters, and website content
  • Update and maintain client websites with clear, on-brand copy
  • Community management

2. Design:

  • Design visual assets, including posters, menus, and social content, using Canva and Adobe tools
  • Collaborate with the team to bring visual and written content together seamlessly
 

PROFILE
Technical Skills

  • Impeccable written English — native or fluent level is essential
  • Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of video editing for social media
  • Strong eye for aesthetics, design, and detail
  • Confidence in writing for different platforms and with different tones of voice
